Lessons learned from Lake Keowee and a rule update
Here is something we observed and something completely different that was brought to our attention after the weigh-in had concluded and money had already been paid out.
First: We will provide a courtesy bump at the sink of a questionable fish per your request. When you come to the sink with a fish that is close to being of legal size, bring it to our attention and we will measure it for you using the ruler on the sink. If a short fish ends up in the sink without our staff being made aware of the need for a courtesy bump, there will be an automatic 1 pound penalty deducted from the total weight of your daily catch.
Second: If a rules violation is observed, photographed, videoed, etc., please bring it to our attention in the form of a protest before any monies are paid out. A clear rules violation, such as coming down off of plane while not wearing a life jacket is subject to a penalty, including disqualification. As always, common sense should apply when deciding whether or not to protest a fellow competitor.
We appreciate the turnout we had on Lake Keowee and hope to see everyone at Fontana!
Update in the event of a tie: If two teams have the same weight, they will both finish in the same place. If a tie covers two paid positions, the money for both places will be combined and split evenly between the two teams. If the tie occurs in the last paid position, both teams will split the payout for that position. Teams will get the same amount of points in the event of a tie.
